The Euclid spectroscopic survey for the study of clusters of galaxies

The Euclid spectroscopic wide survey will provide redshifts for 50 million galaxies in the redshift range 0.9-1.8, through slitless spectroscopy. Only ~1 % of these are expected to belong to clusters. Through the photometric survey, we expect to detect ~50000 clusters in the same redshift range, so the number of galaxies with redshifts per cluster is expected to be small. This program is dedicated to explore innovative techniques, based on machine learning, to exploit this data set to provide: a) cluster detection, b) estimates of cluster mean redshifts, and c) estimates of cluster masses based on kinematics.
